Homework club will meet in room 626 today.

 

Attention anyone interested in trying out for the basketball team.  Tryouts will start today.  Boys will tryout from 2:30-4:00pm and girls will tryout from 4:00-6:00pm.  You must have a completed physical packet on file with the office in order to tryout. Tryouts are closed to parents. If you have any questions, please see Coach Oberg.

 

Tuesday is the last day for the Reading Rocks program. See Mrs. Baca to redeem your prizes and turn in your completed cards. Remember- completed cards will be entered into a drawing to be invited to the exclusive to the Wii Rock Band party and to win several prizes from 98.5 KLUC.

 

Thursday and Friday we will have our Barnes and Noble bookfair from 6 to 8pm. Come shop and listen to our fabulous orchestra play while supporting our school. Fliers will be sent home on Tuesday. 

 

The library will be closed during both lunches today due to the Student of the Month luncheon.

Congratulations to the following championship teams and players:  Mountain West Championship’s winning team: BYU Cougars participants are:  Jesse Vogel, Marquis James, Red Gatan, Brenton hall and the league MVP:  Jesse Vogel.  The Big Ten Conference Championships winning team was the Indiana Hoosiers and team players were:  Jake Hutchings, Roy Sparks, Pablo Gatti, Carlos Flores, Marcus Mercer, Cordell Tidwell, Malik Scott and the leagues MVP:  Roy Sparks.  And for Pac 10 Conference Championship winning team was: Oregon Ducks with players: Eddie Davis, Gerard Harden, Monlef Hargrove, Darien Bradley, Davaril Swanson and Chris Heron with the leagues MVP:  Darrell Swanson.

Scrabble Pups has been canceled today.

 

The canned food drive is over and as a school ESCO collected 1,584 canned goods.  After all cans were counted and tallied the standings were

Third place – Ms. Ruth’s class

Second place – Ms. Torres’ class

and the winner of the McDonald’s breakfast was Ms. Zinna’s class who brought in over 300 items.

Attention all NJHS Members:  Anyone interested in completing the Santa Run MUST have their registration form and $25 fee to Ms. Rodriquez in room 822 today.  Anyone who DOES NOT have their registration form and fee to Ms. Rodriquez will not be able to participate in the Santa Run.

 

Attention Students:  This is the last week for the canned food drive.  Ms. Torres’ and Ms. Zinna’s classes are tied for 1st place.  Bring in your canned goods and try and take the title.  The last day for donations is Monday, November 16, 2009.
