Homework club will be held Monday in room 626 after school.

Well next week will start our second spirit week!!!  Let’s celebrate the first home game of our Escobedo basketball teams and support our players!! We’ll be kicking off Monday with Jersey day.  Look for signs to tell you about each of our other spirit days. Have fun, and remember the dress code still applies.

In basketball action last night, select, loyal fans trekked up to Overton last night to watch the Boxers win 37 to 31 in the boys game and 37 to 3 in the girls game against Lyon MS.  Our next game will be a home game this Tuesday versus Molasky.  We hope that EVERYONE can make it out to witness the domination of Esco basketball.

Basketball season is upon us; do you want to go to the games AND look good at the same time?  Spirit shirts are on sale in the student store for $10.00.  Not only do they look good and show your spirit for your Escobedo Boxers, but they will get you into all the home games for FREE!!!  Again, those are available at the student store for only $10.

Come by the library to see the newest Museum Without Walls display- Sea Life. A Giant Clam and Green Sea Turtle Shell are just two of the many items you can see. Go on Mrs. Baca’s blog for a 10 question quiz about sea life. If you are the first student to get all 10 answers correct, you will get a $5.00 Barnes and Noble gift card.

Save the date: Friday, February 6th from 6:30-10pm we will our second Crystal Palace Skate Night. Join us for a night of fun for only $8.00. More details to come soon.

Uh-oh! There’s a flag down on the field. Penalty! Are you playing fair? Try really hard today to play by the rules. Do what you are supposed to do. Don’t get a penalty for poor sportsmanship! If we all treat each other like we are on the same team – the Escobedo Team, we’ll be going, going, gone! In the end zone! Touchdown for Escobedo! The Kindness Champions of Middle School! To show that we are all good sports and are on the same team, be sure to participate in the Spirit Week next week! See if you can keep showing kindness throughout the whole year!

Wow! We are really playing as a team! It’s amazing to see all the kind acts you are catching each other doing. Be sure to see your English teacher or Ms. Baca when you “catch” someone being kind. By the way, I’m wide open! Throw it to me! Throw a compliment that is! In honor of our Kindness Kickoff, try to give 5 compliments today! One could be on our Kind Words Wall at lunch. Be watching for kindness in those around you!

He’s going for it! Yes! Interception! An Escobedo student just intercepted an insult. He stood up and told a bully he wasn’t being kind. You can do it, too. Don’t let the bullies complete their play; intercept them in the act! If you see someone being unkind today, remind them how they should act. You can Make a Difference!
