Homework club will be held today after school in room 623.

 

Today there will be no kickball because of basketball intramurals.

 

Attention Twilighters…the next Twilighters meeting will be NEXT Thursday November 6th in the 725 computer lab. Please check the blog for more information about meetings and everything else Twilight at emstwilighters.edublogs.org or find it on the boxer blogs page of the escobedo school website.

 

On Monday morning we will be doing a locker clean-out, you will be able to go to your locker early in the morning to throw away any un-needed items.

 

Attention all NJHS students, the deadline for Santa Run registration is MONDAY!! Also on Monday, current members, those who were inducted last year, will have a mandatory meeting.  If you plan on running for historian or vice president, don’t forget your speeches and be prepared on Monday. 

 

The library had a Halloween Candy Jar Guessing Contest. Each time students checked out a library book, they were given an opportunity to guess how many candies were in the jar. And the winner is…… Allie Boschetto. There were 272 candies in the jar. Allie guessed the exact amount. Way to go Allie. Come down to the library to redeem your jar of candy and choice of Book With a Bite.

 

Don’t forget that next Friday is the last day to complete the Reading Rocks cards and earn free prizes like a meal at Applebees, an ice cream from Cold Stone and a chance to be invited to the Reading Rocks Rock Band Wii party in the library on November 14th.

Don’t forget to donate your gently used Halloween costumes during our Costume Drive next week. Bring your costumes to the box in the library. Costumes will be donated to Child Haven for future use. This activity is sponsored by the Make a Difference Club.

 

On Monday, November 3rd the library will host the Doughnut Eating contest for those that are representing their ELA classes. Only those lucky few will be allowed to eat in the library on Monday. This will take place during 1st and 2nd lunch.

 

Would you like to be able to talk to your friend across the lunchroom without texting them on your cell phone?  Or do you know someone who is deaf that you would like to be able to communicate with?  Or, maybe, signing has always fascinated you and you just want to learn how?  Come to the library after school this Thursday, October 30, to sign up for the sign language class or simply find out more information.  Don’t miss this excellent chance to learn American Sign Language.

THURSDAY’S AUDITIONS FOR “ALICE IN WONDERLAND” ARE CANCELLED.  THEY ARE NOW SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY NOVEMBER 3RD AT 2:30PM IN THE CHOIR ROOM.   MAKEUP AUDITIONS WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE ON THIS SAME DATE.

If your parents pick you up after school, please tell them that you need to be picked up by 2:30p.m. everyday because there is no adult supervision  after that time.  You cannot hang out in front of the  school.

 

Students:  If you are not feeling well, do not call home from your cell phone.  We need you to report to the health office so we know that you aren’t feeling well.  We need to keep a record of every student. 

 

Not sure what to do with your costume after Halloween? Do you have any old costumes that are too small? Donate your gently used costumes during our Costume Drive next week. Second lunch cannot eat lunch in the library for one week. There was a lot of popcorn left on the tables and floor. Second lunch may resume eating lunch in the library on November 5th. Lets work together and clean up so that this privilege won’t be permanently taken away.

Homework club will be held today after school in room 604.

 

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Fall 2008 Flag Football Intramural Season. We had a great season filled with many exciting games.  

 

Special thanks goes out to the 6th Grade Colts and 8th Grade Cowboys teams.  Both of these teams finished the season undefeated. 

 

The 6th grade Cowboys team, made up of Andrew Boggess, Collin Belcastro, Dillon Anthony, Jesse Edwards. Daniel Cladera, and David Apana defeated the patriots in their championship game, while the 8th grade cowboy team, made up of Dylan Martin , Nico Fonzi, Dean and Darren Hilton, Hunter Himel. Tim Rasmussen, Joel Levya. Aaron Tillmon, and Sam Chirdon defeated the Titans in the championship game

 

Again, I would like to thank all those students who came out and participated.  The next league will begin in April.  Thanks for supporting the Escobedo Flag Football Intramurals season.

Come join Mrs. Baca in the library this Monday for our 1st official Movie Monday. Come watch a flick on the big screen while eating lunch. Popcorn will be sold for $1.00. This weeks feature will be: the cartoon Grossology: Vein Drain. When people start showing up with bite marks on their necks, Ty and Abby can’t help but wonder if maybe vampires aren’t a myth after all. Remember the movies are quiet so today we will ask for movie theater behavior while visiting the library at lunch.

 

ATTENTION all girls participating in basketball intramurals – We will meet today from 2:30-4:15. There is NO late bus so make sure you arrange transportation ahead of time. See you there.
